In June 2026, I was inspired by Juneteenth to initiate a month-long illustrative journey celebrating my personal reflections of Blackness. Each day was full of meditations on my childhood memories, cultural mainstays, ancestral stories and Black mantras. This experience gave me a deeper appreciation and reverence for my ancestors, the Black diaspora, and myself. It also allowed me to prioritizemy personal creative practice and explore my illustration style. I used Procreate to create each illustration.
