In 2022, I was asked to submit artwork for Pick Posters, an initiative created by Chandler Johnson. Pick Posters is a series that initially enlisted 30+ Black creatives from around the world to take part in designing a poster representing Black empowerment phrases. The poster series has been exhibited at The AI Hub, Johnson County Community College, the University of Kansas, and it also lives online here.

My phrase was 'We Are Divine.' I created it using Procreate and Adobe Photoshop. With my interpretation of, ‘We Are Divine,’ I immediately thought of how I believe God dwells within me, and the blessings that come from accessing and making space for my inner divine. This phrase made me think about my spiritual journey and how healing has become such a priority in my life. I think about how powerful it is that once we make space for healing and the divine within ourselves, we have the ability to guide and walk alongside our brothers and sisters on their healing journeys and help them access their own inner divine. I strongly believe in collective healing, and I wanted to show how the divine plays a role in that with this poster design.
